VT Media Exchange Plug-In for Final Cut ProŽ 7.0
NEW! Apella Media Servers
now offer HD/SD interoperability with Apple Final Cut
Pro v7.0!
VT plug-in technology provides seamless
integration between ingest/playout servers and networked
non-linear editors to facilitate simple drag and drop
connectivity to Shared Media Storage, Apella Ingest Servers,
Apella Playout Servers, and VT Proxy Editor low-resolution
PC editor clients with XML EDL Timeline
exchange!

Video Technics’ MX Plug-In for
Final Cut Pro, users gain valuable time for creative
media production by utilizing embedded functionality between
Final Cut Pro and
Apella Media Server
content and database. The VT MX Plug-In for
FCP allows users to explore the Apella database and drag
and drop media timelines as XML files, with links to
the high resolution media, directly into the FCP project bin.
The VT MX Plug-In for FCP browser dialog provides a
search filter, sort features, thumbnails, and low-res proxy
viewing to easily locate and identify media. With the VT FCP
Plug-in, users intuitively link Apella server media into
their projects and edit content “in-place” on a NAS or SAN.
The VT Proxy Editor Windows product is used to create
low-res, offline timelines. When media content is dropped
from the Browser to the FCP bin the entire EDL is
translated from Apella with links to multiple video and
audio files on the server. Optionally, the media is
downloaded to the Mac. This functionality transfers a
complete sequence to continue production using the FCP
timeline as a craft editor.
NewsFlow™
is an all-digital end-to-end shared production solution
built around the Video Technics’
Apella Media Server
Family of scalable and robust multi-channel
ingest/playout servers. The proven, IT-centric Apella Media
Server Family provides a complete solution from media
ingest, edit to playout, and archive and is now fully
compatible with Final Cut Pro non-linear editors. The Apella
natively supports a mixed database of DV, DVCPro 100, and
MPEG-2 in QuickTime, MXF, and OpenDML AVI file
containers for
seamless and efficient collaborative editing.
For simple low-res proxy editing, producers and editors
utilize the PC-based
VT Proxy Editor
for browsing the database and creating timelines that are
saved to the centralized SQL database. This low-res editing
application contains a multi-track timeline for independent
editing of video and audio tracks. With standard Ethernet
connections, multiple networked workstations simultaneously
participate in the collaborative low-res editing process.

Video Technics natively supports record and playback of Apple's
Final Cut Pro QuickTime movie files for SD and HD. Final Cut Pro
editors simply drag and drop
QuickTime movie files into the browser window to send to the
Apella.
Without transcoding, the newly gained media, low resolution
proxy, and all associated metadata is quickly transferred to
centralized NAS/SAN storage for remote VT Proxy Editor
manipulation or immediate playout to air from any Apella
Media Server.
The VT MX Plug-In for FCP creates interoperability with Final Cut Pro non-linear editors for faster media production
to facilitate a collabrative editing environment and a
streamlined production process.
